WUHS is recognized by the Medical Council of Canada (MCC). Students of WUHS are able to sit for the Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination (MCEE) and Part I & II of the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE). These constitute a prerequisite for eligibility to participate in the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS) and licensure in Canada. Canadian graduates of WUHS who have completed all United State Medical Licensing Exams (USMLE Part I, Part II, and Part III) and are registered with ECFMG (Educational Commission of Foreign Medical Graduates) are also eligible to participate in residency training and receive licensure with the United States through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS).
The WUHS Canadian Student Government Association is one of the most active student groups on campus with alumni that stay connected – in Canada, the Unites States, the United Kingdom and worldwide.
While it is not too difficult to get acclimated to Tropical Ocean breezes year round, the Canadian Student Association helps Canadian students transition to life at WUHS. Canadian Students stay connected to life at home while enriching the entire community and sharing Canadian culture and heritage. In addition, the Canadian Student Association frequently welcomes guest speakers to discuss current trends in the Canadian Healthcare System, including the best pathway to a Canadian residency.
WUHS has a state of the art presence in Toronto, Canada where High School graduates will have the opportunity to complete all required pre-medical coursework while living close to home. Student are able to complete pre-medical coursework within our partnership college, Royal Crown College in the Toronto area.
